    • Set in Forgotten Realms
    • First Module played (current) is: Keep on the Borderlands
    • The Keep is (in my improvisation) located northwest of Waterdeep in Forgotten Realms. It has its own isolated rules, being relatively separated from the land due to its rather rural population especially for being a city. The Keep’s supply lines and trade caravans are being ransacked by goblins at this moment. (The city is a mining and logging establishment, which specializes in rare woods and electrum metal used for electrum coins. (or Blue Eyes/Bluemoons))
    • The campaign starts with our adventurers traveling from Waterdeep (their original home) to The Keep (Keep). They were looking for work there, as they had heard from a trade caravan (a friend of Biffs) that money was to be made at the keep due to their overwhelming amount of problems.
    • On their short trek (about 5 miles) to the Keep, the men are intercepted by a group of goblins who manage to injure Halt and get away successfully.
    • Arriving at the Keep, Biff becomes rather good friends with Alvar the Corporal (*wink wink*) Rolling Eyes , and further trust was bestowed due to an unfortunate occurrence regarding a drunk man with a knife, and a very suspicious encounter with a rather blunt mercenary group.
    • The men also find lodging at the Inn located in town being paid for by the barkeep, due to his debt of Biff for carrying out a bounty on a specific mercenary, as well as being in his employment now.
    • Meanwhile, while Biff took care of lodging and Alvar, Pete was busy with the Priest trying to get help with Halt. Not only did the priest offer his services, he also offered a job, along with his son to help their cause.
o This Job being to kill goblins- some of the very ones who had gotten Halt hurt in the first place. They are damaging the economy so badly that the church itself is looking for a solution to this problem as THEY have been hit hard by the issue.

Synopsis thus far Empty Part 2 Diggity Dawgs

Post  Dev Sat Dec 08, 2012 4:15 pm

In the next part of our adventure, Pete heads off to talk to the Priest, and manages to convince him to help their cause. He has 2 silent acolytes who must join the adventure as an homage to their God.

Meanwhile, Biff went to work in the morning, as Pete was gone. He had flirted with the maidens of the town, and chummed it up with Alvar, in attempts to become better friends with someone who knows what's what around town.

As the boys come back to their room, they are shocked to find Halt and his follower Coril (a mystic hunter with a penchant for magic and the trouble of the city) COMPLETELY MISSING with over half of their gold. (the rest was hidden by Pete in his coffin if memory serves)

In the morning, Halt was convinced by his follower to get out of the Keep of Hellgate, and to go to the city of Waterdeep, a place filled with people of all sorts, and a place with PLENTY of opportunity to adventure.

They arrive late into the afternoon, and decide to go about town to meet some of Coril's old friends. Although they do not run into any, they do manage to find one of his favorite old bars "The Crawling Spider", a creepy almost Halloween-themed tavern cascaded by cobble, and lit in a deep blue.

The two do some people watching, in prospect of finding a job or something to keep them occupied, and in doing so notice a suspicious man eyeing them. Clad in green and leather armor, he leaves, and the two decide to pursue him.

Halt takes point in a now active chase down the alleyway, and not 10 feet in, two men jump from the rooftops with glinting knifes in the moonlight. Halt disposes of the men, but not without a struggle- Halt manages to grab a thief by the shoulders, in an attempt at interrogation. With a knife at the mans throat, facing the other, a flask of acid is thrown, and hits his coin purse. The gold within the purse melts and drips unto the street, while the stray thief runs away with Coril chasing him.

Halt gouges the mans eye out to get him to confess that this was not just an attempt at robbery, but assassination. He passes out from his wound, and is promptly carried up to the hotel, telling the bartender that there was a fight outside, and that he had needed medical attention. (Coril caught the other thief and.... disposed of him.) Laughing

Synopsis thus far Empty Part 3: Reunited

Post  Dev Sat Dec 08, 2012 4:33 pm

To their dismay, Pete and Biff had expected to find their friends in the house with them. (Instead they had just found a leaflet of paper that dictated "off to Waterdeep") The boys, along with their followers and donkey drifted off to Waterdeep the next day, and arrived at around mid-evening.

In a nutshell, the group has reunited, and has no assets in Waterdeep. They went to a tavern to rest for a night, although Biff, and Pete went out to party for the night. 5 silver they brought, and decided to go to the cheapest, gnarliest bar in the place best known for such things: The Dock Ward.

Pete decides it's best to go to "The Thirsty Sailor" where fights are common, and the women cheap, and Biff agrees. When they enter, they are greeted by shoddy tables, and men passed out in the corner. A great place to be.

As the two sit at a bar, they order a round of drinks for the bar, which consists of only the bartender, Biff, Pete, and a greasy 20-something at the end of the bar. He takes notice of the men, and can tell that they obviously aren't from around here.

The man offers the two a deal that they would not get elsewhere: a 5 oz. bag of opium for only 2 silver. If they sold some they could keep the profits, and come back here to buy more. The boys accept the deal, and leave the tavern to head home with their new spoils.

As they get no more than 100 yards away, the building collapses with a great CRASH, and Biff believes it to be dangerous to stick around. The two hightail it home, running as fast as their feet will take them.

They arrive home and sleep. That is where the online campaign begins- the rest has been retconned, as this will be a simpler, and cleaner way to do the campaign, and to be honest I don't remember much past that. Good luck on whichever leads you decide to take- this campaign is sandbox!

    So it begins... Shocked
